Remember when milk was just about the only drink you were told was good for your health? Seems like life was much simpler back then. A fat person was rare, and yet people did not have all of the so-called "health" drinks that are available to us today. It is no secret that the invention of the fast food restaurant opened the floodgates to obesity, but people do not stop to realize that what we drink for losing weight is just as important as what we eat.

Back in 1950, how many varieties of soda pop were there? Probably just 2...Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Now look at how many we have. Not only are Coca-Cola and Pepsi still around, but there are 50 different flavors to choose from! People used to drink water and milk 6 days a week, and for variety, a nice cold Pepsi on a hot day. Now people drink 7 different kinds of Pepsi or Coke for variety and nothing healthy.

On top of that, people now think a tall glass of milk is bad for them as they guzzle down a soda pop, caramel chocolate latte or a high-calorie, high sugar fruit juice or "energy" drink. Where did it all go wrong? Who told that obese person it is OK to order 5 Big Macs for losing weight, as long as they chase them down with a diet version of their favorite sugary soda pop? The television? Certainly not a health expert.

Even people who exercise every single day find it difficult to keep lean like they used to. Why? Because every time you turn on the television there is someone telling us that a new fitness drink is the answer for losing weight, having more energy and keeping better health. Every personal trainer endorses their own magical energy drink designed by the worlds leading scientists to ensure they get the results they want. Want the truth? Most of it is garbage and does nothing for losing weight, but it does make your wallet skinnier.

So what is working to help people for losing weight? There is a si
Green life
mple answer. Drink Green Tea!

That is right. Ditch the Gatorade and instead sip several mugs of green tea throughout the day. Research shows that the

wonder duo of green tea and exercise targets belly fat better than any other combination, so it shrinks more easily than with exercise alone. Overweight adults who engaged in an exercise program for 12 weeks lost more belly fat if they also drank  green tea daily. Why is it so special and such a secret when it has been here all along? Because the big money spent for advertising is on soda pop, not greet tea.

All you have to do is look at the Asian culture. They have consumed green tea on a daily basis for centuries. Ever see an unhealthy or obese asian person outside of a Sumo wrestler? Green tea boosts overall weight loss and triglyceride control while providing your body with powerful anti-oxidants. These anti-oxidants blast tummy fat by acting on enzymes that influence the bodys calorie and fat-burning mechanisms to help in losing weight.

Green tea also curbs your appetite, so when you drink a cup of it you do not feel like continuing on to a snacking binge. This is where most people go wrong with their health and weight loss goals. Green tea is not a trigger food like crackers and cookies, so you do not feel the need to keep drinking and drinking and drinking. One cup makes you feel satisfied enough, and energetic enough, to continue on with your routines without stuffing donuts into your mouth.

Need more convincing? When the anti-oxidants only found in green tea merge with the all-natural caffeine, it actually boosts your bodys metabolism to help you in losing weight faster. I am not a scientist, but that was enough for me to want to at least give green tea a try! My results have been wonderful. Not only does it help me to keep my weight under control at the age of 69, it gives me natural energy that lasts throughout the entire day.

Being an asthmatic my entire life, I was never able to exercise. As a result, I found myself 70 pounds overweight and hating the way I looked and felt. Part of a weight loss program that I began over 15 years ago included green tea and I still drink 2-3 cups every single day. Why? Because it is one of the reasons I remain healthy. Your body can do amazing things when you provide it with proper nutrition.

Keep in mind that there are healthy drinks out there besides water, milk and a few fitness drinks...but green tea has the most health benefits from a single cups worth than any other drink. Do not spend your time worrying about what kind of water is best, or what kind of energy drink will give you the best boost for your buck. Instead, get your hands on some green tea and let the drink do the work for you.
